RETURN ON INVESTMENTS
Following is a list- of yesterday's transactions on Now Zealand Stock Exchanges. In the second column is given tlio return, based on tho last annual dividend, from investment at the quoted price. In calculating the return on shares in companies which pay their dividends outside New Zealand the exchange rates have not been taken into consideration. The return on Bank of New Zealand ordinary shares is computed at 10 per cent per annum. The yield on 4 per cent Government loans includes redemption. In tho case of per cent loans, the return is for interest alone, and covers only the period for which the loans are tax-free. Beet sugar, December, 4s 113 - NEW ZEALAND WHEAT LONDON BIDS DECLINED It is stated in the Bank of New Zealand's produce circular issued in London on September 19 that.bids had lately been solicited for further quantities of New Zealand wheat, including 500 tons for September shipment to London, and 750 tons for second half September first half October shipment to London, Liverpool or Glasgow. A bid of 22s c.i.f. was cabled but declined, although that appears to be full value compared with the cheap offers of Continental wheat, particularly German, besides English of choice quality.
