The proprietors Lave acceded io \ this request and the Nrw Ziaumi | Hzzjjld Aviation Scholarship is now | open for competition. Entries for the scholarship will be | accepted from applicants over the age i cf 35 years and under 3-5 on March j Si, 1534, and the necessary forms are ! available from the office of the Auck- | land Aero Club. Each competitor will ! be required to pay an entrance fee of i £T, to meet the cost of approximately j half an hour's instruction by Flightj Lieutenant D. 31. Allan. After being
taught the functions of the various controls and instruments, candidates vrii] be given a short spell of dual instruction in one of the club's Moth machines, and the sin pupils who display the greatest aptitude will bt» chosen as finalists. Each in a list will receive a further half hour's instruction, and after all have been tested a second time the winner will be selected. A similar enterprise was conducted sboat a year ago by the Wellington Aero Club, in conjunction with the Evening Post. The venture proved a decided success, there being over 100 entrants, among whom competition was keen. The winner was 3D. G. P. Cachema ilie, who made a splendid showing in the final tests, scoring S2-5 points out of a possible 1000.
