,WOMEN'S DIVISION ; THE WA ITEM ATA COUNCIL The quarterly meeting of the WaiteI matn Provincial Council of the Womeirs j Division o| the Farmers' Union was i hold in the Auckland Agricultural and ] Pastoral Society's boardroom yesterday. ; Ihe president. Noel P. Adams, j presided, and there were 46 delegates j present, representing 20 branches of the ; council. An apology was received from i Mrs. M. G. Orr, vice-president, for unj avoidable absence. Delegates were wel- | coined from the newly-'formed branches I at \\ hanga rata and Pukekohc. ! The general financial statement for the cjunrter was presented by the lion, secretary, .Mrs. J, Wells, and a letter of thanks from the trustees of the "Sheep Owners' Acknowledgment. of Debt to British Seamen's"' fund was received. Mrs. Bryan, hon. housekeeping secrej tary, presented the financial statementj for the quarter, winch showed a balance [ of £'3l 10s in hand. Of this amount j £lO 7.s lid bar, been contributed by ! branches as donations toward the eounI cil's new housekeeping fund, and the donation of ;i further £'■"> "is from the Mangere branch was announced. Mrs. ; Bryan stated that live applications for j housekeeper: had been filled and that a j maternity nurse had also been supplied | to one branch. Mrs. L. L. Allen, was received with j regret. Appreciation was expressed of ! Mrs. Allen's services to the council, and t a hearty vote of thanks was carried with acclamation. It, was resolved that Mrs. M. G. <'n should be risked to j accept- appointment as hon. organiser ! to the council. ! Twelve remits for submission by tho ! council to tlie Dominion executive ; meeting ( bp held at angauui in. January were considered and passed by delegates. These covered a wide range and included remits designed to lactlij tare the working of division welfare ' schemes, suggested improvements in j general organisation and three special I remits embodying recommendations to | government departments.
