YOUTH AND THE CHURCH
Sir,— Kindly allow ine to bestow some credit on our much-abused synod. When the teaching to youth report is received in its true light one is compelled to admire the vision and courage shown bv those men responsible for its production and adoption. One other pleasing feature, duri-ng the session, was the motion referring to monetary and other reforms to our present social troubles. Discussions like these makeone really proud to be a member of the Anglican Communion. Kd.mund Mor.sk. Sir, —The Anglican Synod has taken a very retrograde step in this matter. Not i per cent of youth is bothering its head about .science and the Bible. Hie writer has not come across an\ oi those alleged young prigs. It is a new departure in education to discredit a subject, because the class cannot grasp 't. It is more usual to employ teachers who can and will explain things. I lie Church could, but does not generally, (> xp|ain anything. Take our Lord's Ktatoinent regarding riches, the camel, and the needle's eye. Many have assuiitcd that He meant it was quite impossible for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Put Our Lord "ften and emphatically used the word '''■aiinot" if He meant it. In this case j Isaid "hardly"' and "it is easier." 'ho "Needle's Kye" was the name to a small entrance or aperture the wall of .Jerusalem, through M 'bich a camel could only pass by knooli„g and with some assistance. This ' iU 't makes the analogy simple and £ a . s 'ly understood. How much the "iblo-lover owes to the patient archaeologist I Another Anglican.
