FALL IN EGG PRICES RATES FOR STRAWBERRIES Apart from the advance of Id per lb. in rates for all lines of pork except sausages, a decrease of Id a dozen in the price of eggs is the most important change in tho retail values of foodstuffs in tho past week. Fish is still in comparatively short supply, although there is prospect of an improvement. The prico of eggs has dropped from lid to lOd for hen eggs and from lOd to 9d for duck eggs. Strawberries are beginning to reach tho shops in larger quantities and are selling at from lOd to 2s a chip, according to type and quality. Water melons are obtainable at 3d per lb. In the vegetable section new potatoes aro selling for 2d per lb. Tauranga kumaras are obtainable at 2£lb. for 6d.
