KEEN COMPETITION EXCELLENT CLEARANCES SYDNEY AND MELBOURNE By Telegraph Press Association-Copyright (Received November 1, 0.35 pm \ SYDNE\, Nov. 1 At the Sydney wool sales to-day competition again was extremely keen and values were firm and equafto the best point of the week. As a result there were full and satisfactory clearances. Greasy Merino sold to 26} d, which was obtained for six bales from Rvlstone. The offerings totalled 10,722 hales, of which 10,386 were sold. Also 770 bales were disposed of privately. At the Melbourne sale* 10,150 bales wero offered and a 98 p< ;r cent clearance was effected. Prices were equal to the highest point in the Australian season, with comebacks and fine erossbreds a little better. Comebacks sold to 23d a lb., the highest price paid in Melbourne this season.
