NATIONAL RESERVE

THE ANNUAL MEETING The 15th annual meeting of the Women's National Reserve was held at Bishopscourt. Owing to illness, however, Mrs. Averill, the patroness, was unable to be present. General Sir' George Richardson presided. The report and balance-sheet, the latter showing a substantial credit balance, were read and adopted. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mrs. Averill; president, Mrs. Fitchett; senior vice-president, Mrs. J. Cook, J.P.; vice-presidents, Mrs. H. R. Hesketh, Mrs. McGarry, Mrs. H. Gulliver; honorary secretary and treasurer, Miss Olgar Paykel; committee, Mrs. Clinton Savage, Mrs. J. King, Mrs. Allen, Mrs. T. Derrick, Miss Donald. Mrs. Cedric Herman and Mrs. E. F. Fraser were elected members of tlio society. A vote of sympathy was parsed with th* relatives of the lato Mrs. Bettany, who had been a keen and enthusiastic worker for the society and a member of the committee since its inception.
