"Wednesday V The death of Hobepa Tamiti, known g as Joe Thomas, at the age of 74 years, | occurred last night at Te Kuini. _ 1/6* 3 ceased was a well-known To Kuiti and King Country Maori, especially among ! the earlier settlers. Tamiti was captain of the barg» which supplied the district, plying between I'irongia, then known M Alexandra, and Te Kuiti, and thw brought him into contact with most or tho early settlers.
