V. Stringer, and N. Drummond were instructed to interview the chairman of the No. 1 Dis-. trict Highways Council, Mr. R. T.«V. Ronayne, in the matter. 1 Mr. Stringer commented on the gatf"' >; in the main highway between Huk«-"" renui and Towai. " Jlr. J. R. S. Richardson said thereX; -r was a dip in the road which resulted in cars being held up frequently for ' ' 12 hours following heavy rains. Drummond drew attention to ,v • the bad state of the main Whangarei-... . Waipu road from tho Ruakaka turnoff to the Mata Hall, a distance of a few miles.
