MAN'S BIG FAMILY
TOTAL OF TWENTY-ONE SIXTY-SIX GRANDCHILDREN Mr. Frederick Hendon, of Wimbledon, has had 21 children, at least 66 grand-children —he says ho has lost count of tho exact number—and ten great-grandchildren. Ten of his children, 54 grandchildren, and all his great-grandchildren, tho eldest of whom is now nine years old, are alive. " Me and tho missus wero married bofoi'o wo were 17," said Mr. Hendon, who is 72. "Wo believo in having a lot of children in my family. I lost tho missus last year, but she was over 70, and some of my family have lived to be nearly a hundred." Mr. Hendon was a twin and had 22 brothers and sisters. One of his daughters has a family of 15 and another one of 12. " How did I keep them all in order?" Mr. Hendon was asked. "Why, I've never used a stick to them in my life," his reply. The combined ages of Mr. Hendon and all his descendants now living total 927 years. Next year tho total will reach a thousand, and it is. Mr. Hendon's ambition to celebrate tho event with a party for tho entire family.
