THE PRICE OF WOOL

Sir, —Your correspondent "Inquirer" wonders why a cardigan made up of less than lib. of wool shoidd cost 10s 6d. The price seems to me almost moderate, when compared with that of wool in the yarn. My women folk do quite a lot of knitting. Why should they have to pay lljd per oz., which is 15s, 4d per lb., for wool yarn, when the sheepfarmer gets about* 6d per lb. for wool? The yarn (machine-spun) surely cannot cost a great deal to spin. Fleeced.
