THEFT OF CYCLE ADMITTED FINE OF £5 IMPOSED The theft of a bicycle valued at £2 was admitted by Bernard Hilton Moss, nged 48, carpenter (Mr. Hart), in tho Polico Court yesterday. Tho cvclo was stated by tho polico to have been removed from a street where it had been temporarily left. In asking for leniency Mr. Hart said that accused claimed to havo found the cycle on a vacant section. Ho thought it had been abandoned. "This is a very old story, but it is what he tells me is tho truth," added counsel. "Yes, the story is not convincing," remarked tho magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, who fined accused £5, in default one month in prison. James Campboll, aged 32, labourer, pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing sundry household articles from a bach at Lower Matakana. He was fined £2 and ordered to mako restitution, £2 10s.
