GOODS-SERVICE LICENCES

SEVEN APPLICATIONS MADE NORTH AUCKLAND OPERATORS Seven ' applications for goods-service licences were received at a meeting of the No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority at Helensville yesterday. In six cases decision was reserved, and one application was adjourned to Auckland for hearing next week. Mr. J. A. C. Alluin presided, - and with him were associated Messrs. E. C. Blomfield and T. Hanna. Mr. G. T. Wilson represented the Railways Department. Six of the applicants sought continuous goods-service licences, and one, Mrs. G. F. Wilson, of Waimauku, applied for seasonal goods-service licences between Waimauku and Wliarepapa, Ararimu and Waimauku, and Motutara settlement, Waimauku and Huapai. Mr. A. W. Faire, of Kaukapakapa, applied for a licence to operate between Auckland and Kaukapakapa, via Helensville, and Helensville-Auckland Transport, Limited, sought a licence to run a service between Helensville and Auckland on five days a week. An application by the same company, to carry goods between Helensville and Rewiti, was withdrawn.

A licence to carry livestock and manure between Waimauku and Westfield was requested by Mr. P. Cane, of Waimauku, who applied also for a regular service licence between Wiamauku and Helensville. Mr. J. H. King, of Kaukapakapa, sought a goods-service licence to run from Waiwera and Wainui to Auckland by tho East Coast Road, and another to run from the Upper Waiwera and Wainui districts to Helensville, agreeing not to carry goods from Holonsville or Kaukapakapa to Auckland. Mr. C. It. A. Nairn, of Waimauku, applied for a licence to run a service'between Waimauku and Helensville,. and Mr. C. C. Hoist, of Rewiti, requested permission to operate between Helensville and Auckland on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, without picking up passengers between Waimauku and Auckland. Several of tho applications were opposed by tho Railways Department.
