COLLISION WITH BUS

LORRY DRIVER FINED INCIDENT AT WHANGAREI [by TELEGRATH —OWN COIIItESrONDENT] WHANGAREI. Monday A carrier, Stephen George Bignall, was charged in the Police Court to-day with, negligently driving a lorry, and with failing to keep to the left when meeting another vehicle. Albert Joseph Wallace, bus driver for the Northern Motor Bus Company, Limited, gave evidence of driving a bus from Onerahi to Whangarei with school children. The bus was struck by dedefendant's lorry, which was travelling on the incorrect side of the road. Two of the children received minor injuries. Defendant in evidence said that the strong sunlight impaired his vision and ho took all reasonable carc to avoid rtn accident. The magistrate, Mr. G. N. Morris, dismissed the first charge, and fined defendant £2 10s and costs on the second.
