REMUERA SPORTS AREA
OFFER OF FRESH LEASE DILWORTH TRUST CONDITIONS No decision has yet been reached concerning the future use of the Remuera sports grounds, which are under the control of the Dilworth Trust, and which for the past five years have been leased by tho Auckland Girls' Athletic Association. The Dilworth Trust Board was recently notified by the executive of tho association that it did not intend to apply for a renewal of tho lease, which expires at the end of October. • At yesterday's meeting of the Dilworth Trust board of trustees, Archdeacon G. Mac Murray reported that ho had received no official notification whether tho annual meeting of the association had ratified tho executive s decision. Ho had, however, been informed personally by the secretary that such was tho case. Archdeacon Mac Murray was authorised by tho trustees to prepare a set of conditions, prior to offering the area for lease by tender to a suitable sports body. The grounds, before their lease to tho Girls' Athletic Association, were leased by tho Auckland Hockey Association, which, with tho Ladies Hockey Association, has since subleased them from the Athletic Association. During tho summer, girls' cricket and tennis are played on the grounds, which are also used by secondary schools throughout tho year.
