OBITUARY
MRS. HANNAH MOULDER The death has occurred rt Tauranga Hospital, of Mrs. Hannah Moulder, at the age of 85 yeara. Mrs. Moulder arrived in New Zealand about 70 years ago with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Abel Whitehouse, and settled at Matakohe. She married Mr. George Moulder and they lived in Auckland for a number of years and later at Northcote, where Mr. Moulder died in 1901. Mrs. Moulder had since resided at Cambridge and Taurnnca. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. L. Coopell, of Tauranga, and a son, Mr. L. A. Moulder, of Auckland. MRS. ELIZABETH GRIBBLE An old and much-respected resident of Thames and Auckland, Mrs. Elizabeth Gribble, died this week at her home in Williamson Avenue, Grey Lynn, aged 77 years. Mrs. Gribble was born in Short-land Street, Auckland, in 1556, her father being Mr. William Dunne, a pioneer hardware merchant, who settled a few years later at Mullet Point. The family moved to Thames soon after the discovery of gold, and Miss Dunne was married there in 1875 to the late Mr. William Gribble. For nearly 20 years she and her daughters conducted a stationery business at Thames. Mrs. Gribble was a devoted adherent of the Church of the Epiphany, Karangahape Road, and was long regarded as the "mother" of the parish branch of the Mothers' Union. The funeral services were conducted by the vicar, the Rev. Jasper Calder, and a former incumbent, the Rer. R. G. Coats. Mrs. Gribble is survived by a sister, Mrs. H. T. Buckley, of - Williamson Avenue, and four daughters, Mrs. H. J. Buckley, Mrs. F. H. Whitehead, Mrs. G. Halford and Mrs. L. F. Broadmore, all of Auckland. There are eight grandchildren and three grcnt-grandehildren. MR. ALEXANDER PATTON [BY TELEGRAPH OWN COP. P.KSI'ONDI'NT~] TAURAXGA. Friday The death has occurred of Mr. Alexander Patton, aged 53 years. Born in Ireland, Mr. Patton, as a youth, went to the South African War, and after it was over he returned to South Africa. He came to New Zealand in 1914 and settled in Tauranga 14 years ago on a farm at Gate Pa. In his youth Mr. Patton was a keen horseman, following hounds and competing successfully as a rider in hunt races in Ireland. He is survived by his wife and three children. MR. JOHN R. MONTGOMERY [by telegraph—own coar.KsroNDKvr] DUNEDIX Friday The death has occurred at Christchurch of Mr. John R. Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery was for ten years on the staff of the Otago Boys' High School before being appointed headmaster of the Geraldine District High School. He played cricket for Otago for several seasons, at one timo being captain of the eleven, and his success in football was outstanding. Mr. Montgomery was a great forward and represented the province in the seasons 1888-89-90-91-92, being captain in the last two years." Mr. Montgomery was also captain of the University team in those two seasons. He was a notable rille shot, being in 181)0 champion shot of the Otago Hide Association.
