There was an excellent demand for seats yesterday when the plans were opened for the approaching season of Air. Ernest C. Polls' musical production." "Venus, Ltd;," whirh is to bo staged for the first time in New Zealand, under the direction of J. 0. Williamson, Limited, at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday afternoon and evening next. The fact that "Venus, Ltd.," ran for over six months in Sydney and Melbourne indicates that it is an unusually attractive entertainment. It is said to be packed with tuneful musical numbers, clever dialogue, original comedy, gorgeous ensembles, brilliant ballets, and it is sung and acted by an exceptionally talented company. The name of Jennie Benson is well known to English and Australian audiences Charles Norman is regarded as the best and funniest comedian Australia has known for many years. Miss Reno Riano's eccentric dancing alone, it is said, would assure success in any production, but in addition she is a talented comedienne. L'Etoile and Laurance are said to be exceptionally brilliant dancers. Cooil Soott is another who is known to New Zea landers, principally through his characterisation in the talking picture "Tho Sentimental Bloke." Maie Baird and Archie Thompson are also favourably known on this side, as they were associated a few years ago with Gladys Monerieff's successes in "Tho Maid of the Mountains." There arc over 50 artists in "Venus, Ltd."
