DAIRY REGULATIONS
INTERPRETATION OF CLAUSE [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Friday Advice was received from the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, Minister of Agriculture, by the Waikato sub-provincial executive of the Farmers' Union to-day, stating that although clause 55 of the amended dairy regulations was introduced for the efficient administration of the cream and milk grade regulations, the nonacceptance of milk or cream from a supplier to another company was not confined to suppliers who objected to the grade of their produce. If it was confined to these suppliers, ■ changes could go on as usual, but nominally on account of some other cause, although tho real reason might be tho grading. Tho Minister's letter was the outcome of a request made by the executive for an interpretation of the new legulations. A remit was received from the To Kowhai branch taking exception to the provision that suppliers must supply the same factory for the whole season subject to tho grading being satisfactory. The letter and remit woro received.
