LADIES' CLUB Following is the result of the foursomes match played by members of the Akarana ;Ladies' Golf Club:—Mrs. Jacobson and Mrs. ,Phillips, 2 down; Miss Peet and Miss Jones, 3 down. Results in the qualifying round of the championships were as follows:—Seniors: Best gross, Mrs. Jacobson, 85. Juniors: Miss T. Jones. 9S. C grade: Mrs. Smeeton, 112. The championships will be played on August 16, 17 and 18. The next round of the two-life competition must be played by Saturday next. The finalists were Spedding, junr., and H. Kusabs. The cap went to Spedding, 4 and 2, after a lyjon contest. The winner's card was 70. Not* yet in his twenties. Spedding is likely to develop into a first-rank golfer. MAORI CHAMPIONSHIP [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION} < WAIROA. Friday The weather was cold and showery for the concluding day of the Maori golf championships. In tho semi-finals of the men's championship It. Taroha beat W. Desha and J. Grace beat J. Hnpe. In tho final K. Tarcha (Ilawke's Bay) beat J. Grace (Wellington), 5 and 3.
