GAUMONT AND FOX STUDIOS BRITISH STUDIOS* WORK An arrangement has been concluded by which the Fox Film Corporation of Australasia will handle for a long time all'Gaumont-British, Gainsborough, and Gaumont-Ufa products. In making the announcement, Mr. Stanley S. Crick, managing director of the Fox Film Corporation, said that the British studios concerned were making productions which ranked with the world's best in regard to technique, subject and acting ability. He said that the actors engaged by the studios included: Jack Hulbert, Cicely Courtneidge, Tom Walls, Ralph Lynn, Conrad Veidt, Anne Grev, Jessie Matthews, Edmund Gwenn, Edward Everett Horton, Gordon Harker, Sonnie Hale, Leslie Henson and Evelyn Laye. Seven pictures of outstanding worth, J. B. Priestley's " The Good Companions "; "Soldiers of the King"; " Baroud F.P.1.; "King of the Ritz "; " Happy Ever After " and "Waltz Time" were already in New Zealand. Referring to the arrangements, Mr. Alan Williamson, New Zealand representative of the Gaumont-British Corporation, said that when he left England in March, 1932, the big Shepherd's Bush studios were just commencing to take shape; but, upon his return in February of this year, he was amazed to find how rapidly the whole studio organisation had accustomed themselves to their, .new environments and with what a perfect team, Mr. Michael Balcon, general manager of production, had surrounded himself. " It is quite easy to realise now why GaumontGainsborough pictures have so quickly gained a well-deserved world reputation, " Mr. Williamson said. " Under the wide distribution which Fox will give them, I am confident wo are going to make many more friends throughout Australia and New Zealand."
