BADMINTON CLUB The St. Peter's Badminton Club organised a very onjoyablo dance and bridgo party in the St. Peter's Hall on Wednesday evening to augment the hall fund. Camellias and foliage were used for decorations, while tables for bridgo were cosily arranged in the clubroom adjoining the hall. Music for the dancing was played by the Parisian Band. On arrival tho guests wore received by Mrs. C. A. Cherrington, who wore a frock of black georgette and lace, and Mrs. A. B. Whyte, who was in old gold lace. Tho ladies who organised tho evening were: —Mrs. F. A. Lamb, who wore violet crushed velvet; Miss A. Moore, black lace; Miss B. Hunter, black georgette and lace; Miss C. Hunter, petunia ring velvet; Miss M. Stibbards, flame georgette. Among those present were: —Mrs. A. English, Mrs. Kent Johnston, Mrs. H. Edgecuinbe, Mrs. J. D. Smith, Mrs. W. Seavill, Mrs. E. Tho first annual dance of the Waikato section of the New Zealand Public Service Association was held in George Kingston's Cabaret on Wednesday evening and was largely attended by public servants, their wives and friends. The cabaret was artistically decorated with rose and black drapings and twisted streamers. The Aloha Band contributed delightful dance music. The ladies of the committee present were: — Mi?s F. Whitehouse, who was wearing a frock of pale pink broderie Anglaise; Miss C. Dold, in Naples blue georgette; Miss J. Choat, apple green satin and lace; Miss M. Nolan, sea green panne velvet; Miss I. guild met there on Thursday. Tho'Rev. W. M. Smallfield addressed the gathering and gave an interesting and explanatory address 011 the patron saint, Aidan. A proverb competition was won by Mrs. W. M.
