LABOURER SENT TO PRISON Four charges of stealing overcoats from motor-cars parked in the city were admitted in the Police Court yesterday by John Clarke, aged 25, labourer. Ho was * charged with stealing an overcoat and a pair of gloves,'valued at £4, tho property of William Eric Wagstuff, on jjuly 18; an overcoat valued at £4, the [property of Christopher Thomas Robinson, on July 19; an overcoat, valued 'at £7, and radio parts, valued at £1 jlOs,- tho property of 'Ernest Arthur EEady, on .June 25; and an overcoat, [valued at £4, the property of James Philip Guy, on July 2,6. i Detective-Sergeant O'Sullivan said accused had been caught as be was trying jto dispose of one of the overcoats. AVhan questioned, he at first denied, 'but later admitted, taking the coats from parked cars. The radio parts-wore jin the poekofc of one of tho coats. Throe of the coats had been recovered, i Accused was sentenced by Mr. W. 11. 'Mclyeaiv, 5.M.,. to three months' imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to bo concurrent.
