Auk. 2 The Financial News directs attention to the importance of the appointment of the Royal Commission to investigate the Canadian banking system. It says the Ottawa Conference cjrcamed of a chain of cpntral banks throughout the Empire and events in all the Dominions arc moving in that direction. The prospect has aroused opposition from banks in Canada and Now Zealand, but the'zealots of a unified Empiro monetary policy will fight hard to achieve it. '
