DEVONPORT BOROUGH

DATE FOR REVALUATION Advice that it would probably not be possible to undertake a revaluation of the borough of Devon port until 1934-35 was received at a meeting of tho borough council last evening from Mr. A. Harris, M.P. for Waitemata, who forwarded a letter on tho subject from the Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister in charge of the Valuation Department. It was decided that a protest bo sent to tho Government against the delay and that a suggestion •be made that any private applications bo held over pending general revaluation. Permission was granted tho Girl Guides' Association to hold a collection of food on August 30 in aid of distress in the borough, the food to be given to tho local welfare association for distribution. t An offer from tho North Shore Transport Company to contribute £5 toward a bus shelter at Old Lake Road was received with thanks.
