POLICE COURT NEWS
LABOURER IMPRISONED A pica of guilty to a charge of stealing an overcoat valued at £2, the property of Charles Leonard, was entered by a labourer, John Fairlev, aged 49, who appeared before Mr. W. It. McKenn, S.M., in tho Police Court yesterday. A sentence of three months' imprisonment was imposed, tho magistrate saying accused had been convicted previously. An able seaman, Eric Hathaway, aged .30, was charged with unlawful carnal knowledge at Lvttclton on March 5. He was remanded to appear in Christchurch on August 9.
