MOTOR GOODS SERVICES

APPLYING FOR LICENCES ALL DECISIONS RESERVED "I do not think it wise to tie up the services too much in the meantime," said-, the chairman of the No. 2'Licensing Authority, Mr. > J. A. C. Allum, ikt yesterday's sitting," when further applications for licences to conduct motor goods services were considered. "First we want to get the licensing started, but when renewals are sought, that will bo the time to decide whether the services are essential." Mr. Allum said no decisions would be given until all tho applications for a particular district had been heard. Most of tho applications dealt with yesterday were for automatic licences for services commenced before November 11, 1931, but some were for services begun after that time. In the caso, of applications for non-autouiatic licences, Mr. Allum said that applicants would require to prove the serices were necessary and desirable in tho public interest. Decision was reserved concerning the following applications:—T. A. Peterson, of Auckland, for a service between Auckland and Onowliero; G. P L. Ilartner, of Awhitu, between Awhitu and Auckland; T. W. Mtirphv, of Auckland, between Auckland and various country centres; B. K. Jenkins, of Otahuhu, between Auckland and Mangatangi; John Trenouth, of Hunua, between Paparimu and Hunua and Auckland; W. J. Carvio, of Hunua. between Hunua and Auck-. land; 0. L. Laslett, of Hunua, bet"eci,i Hunua and Auckland; J. E. I). .I'arrant, of Papakura, between Papakura and Paparimu; Sickling Brothers, of Papakura, between Westfield and Hunlin, Ponga and Papakura; S. .J. Wright, of Papakura, between Karaka and A\estfiold; A. F. Hicks, of Auckland, •between Auckland and Hamilton; 1J H J'ob.sou, of Auckland, bei ween Dr.iry and Paerata, Karaka jino Arnrunu. The hearing of several others was adjourned. The sitting of tho authcnty will be continued this morning.
