THE MOTHERS' UNION
GOOD PROGRESS FOR YEAR Continued progress of the Mothers' Union of the Diocese of Auckland was revealed in the annual report of the union, which was presented at the annual meeting, held in St. Matthew's Church hall. The council expressed its deep sense of gratitude that good progress had been maintained during the year and that the interest of the members had been manifested in many ways, especially in the increased membership. Now branches had been formed at Tuakau and St. Saviours, Mangero Central, and one was in course of formation at Kaipara Flats. A branch of Maori members had also been formed, this to include women from Mangere, Orakei and Mount Albert. The membership during the year had increased by 211, making a total membership of 1836. The links with England now numbered 41. The death during the year of Miss -Blades, who for many years had rendered very faithful service as diocesan treasurer and literature secretary, was referred to in the report, and sympathy was extended to her sisters and relatives. The financial statement showed a balance in hand of £32.
