Hunt, S.AI.. in the Police Court yesterday, with failing to pay £1 2s 0d as taxi-fali liire on July Ml, and stealing a cushion valued at 5s ami a, table cover valued at ss. the property of Ailsa Margctts, on May .3. A pica of not guilty was entorod. Evidence was given by a taxi driver that he had driven accused, who suid she would lie responsible for the faro, and another woman to several places, accused saying she was looking for board. Accused, who, after being in a hotel, appeared to ho affected by liquor, refused to pay the fare, and a constable was called. Ailsa Margctts, a single woman, said accused had occupied a flat next to hers in St. George's Hav Hoad, Parnell, and articles produced in Court were the property of witness. A sentence of one month's imprisonment was imposed. A labourer, John Clarke, aged '25 was charged with stealing an overcoat valued at. £4, the property of J. I'. Guy. Accused was remanded until August it.
