YESTERDAY'S SALES RETURN ON INVESTMENTS following is a list of yesterday's transactions on Now Zealand Stock Exchanges. In the second column is given the return, based on the last annual dividend, from investment at the quoted price. In calculating the return on shares in companies which pay thoic dividends outsido New Zealnnd the exchange rates have not boon taken into consideration. The return on 4 per cent Got ornment loans includes redemption. In the case of 3} per cent loans tho return is for interest alone, and covers only tho period for which tho loans aro tax-free. No return is givon on local body securities and debentures in tho meantime. CANADIAN APPLE CROP The final estimate of commercial applo production in Canada for I».M is 3.977.000 barrels, an increase of o per cent comj)ared with tho previous year. The crop in British Columbia exceeded tho previous year's total by 48 per coiit) while Nova Scotift h declined 20 per cent.
