HERMITAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS H. ELWORTHY'S FINE EFFORT [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] THE HERMITAGE. Wednesday The third day of the Hermitage championship ski-ing meeting was held to-day in fine weather H. Elworthy won the downhill championship brilliantly on a course said to be the hardest of its kind ever set in the Dominion. He made the descent of 3500 ft. from the top of Ball Pass in 15 minutes. Following were the principal sults:—Downhill Championship.—H. Elworthy (Tasman Ski Club), 15m, I; H. Wigley (Tasman), 17m, 2; M. Bowie (Aorangi), 17 l-10m, 3. Also started: A. G. Wigley (Tasman), 17$ m, J. Robertson (Ruapchu), 20m. Ladies' Downhill Championship.— Mrs. A. 73. Edwards (Christchtirch Ski Club). 1m 30s, 1; Miss D. Wilkins (Christehureh Ski Club), 2m ]os, 2; Miss D. Mackie (Aorangi Ski Club), 4m, 3.
