YOUNG STOCK OF O.K. STUD PRICES UP TO 91 GUINEAS Progeny of the imported bull Oxford Beau's Combination were offered at the sixth annual sale of young stock of Mr. C. A. Watkin's O.K. Jersey Stud, held yesterday at Takanini. Oxford Beau's Combination was purchased by Mr. Watkin for 2000 guineas fivo [ seasons ago. Ten junior two-year-old heifers included in the progeny have now, under test, given records of from 4291b. to 5891b. of butter-fat. The average for the 10 is 5051b. These production figures have earned for the sire th© title of champion butter-fat bull as awarded by the New Zealand Jersey Breeders' Association. Over 400 people were present at the sale to-day, which was conducted by Wright, Stephenson and Company, Limited. Twenty-three two-year-old bulls, 16 yearling bulls, and 29 two-year-old heifers were offered. The bulls sold readily, going to buyers in various parts of New Zealand from Southland to North Auckland. Fourteen heifers changed hands, others' failing to reach the reserve. One two-year-old bull brought 91 guineas. This was Golden Kinta.il, from a daughter of Oxford Beau's Combination with a record of 5231b. of butterfat as a two-year-old. The purchasers were Messrs. A. Coles and Son, Onaero, Waitara. Mr. J. Nash, of Tangiteroria. purchased another, Sultan Supreme, by Oxford Beau's Combination, . for 48 guineas, while others sold at from 16 to 42 guineas. The average for the two-year-old bulls was 27 guineas. The prices for yearling bulls ranged from 10? to 40 guineas, and the average was slightly over 19J guineas. Mr. R. Wyman, of Papatoetoe, paid the top price. ; . Seventeen to 4o guineas were paid tor the heifers. A daughter of Oxford Beau's Combination named Prignet brought the latter figure, the purchaser being Mr. J. D. Watkin, Puni. The heifers averaged just over 24i guineas.
