DOINGS OF AUCKLANDERS [-FKOM OUR OWN COEKESPONDENT] LOXDOX, Juno- 23 Mr. W. Perry (Auckland), wlio is travelling with Mrs. Perry, attended the annual Moveable Conference of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows at Brighton. He was the representative of the New Zealand branch and of the Auckland district. He intends to be present at the opening and dedication of tho Million Masonic Temple in London in July, li is to be opened by the Duke of Conuaught. Mr. Perry is visiting London, liis birthplace, for the first time in 50 years. A * Mr. and Mrs. W: Kay (Auckland) enjoyed a real English Christmas and New Year with friends at Torquay after an absence from the Mother Country of 23 years. Early in January they went to the Channel Islands. They afterwards visitedl Brittany, Paris, the French Riviera, Home and other towns in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Holland and Belgium. Mr. li. A. Yock (Auckland) has been fully occupied with business since his arrival in England. Ho has visited Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Walsall, Leicester, Bedford and Chesterfield. He was able to enjoy a delightful week at St. Andrews, where he played golf on the Royal and Ancient Course. A visit to Germany and France is on Mr. Yock's programme, prior to leaving by way of New York and Canada on his return to the Dominion. The journey to England was made via Suez. Mr. Thomas Lumont (Auckland) has, on his own initiative, recently been looking into the matter of water supplies and water purification and has met the leading authorities. Mr. Lamont does not hold anv position m public life at present, so* that his inquiries have boon entirely unofficial. He is about to leave for a Scottish tour. Mr. Robert Mill, late manager in London of the Bank of New Zealand, lias been seriously ill with bronchial pneumonia, but is now recovering. .Mr. Mill retired in February from tho position ho so long held, and although a good many years have elapsed since he ii r / f ala,Kl - he is well known to all clients of the bank who hai e been to London during that period
