Barnard, AI.P. for Napier, who has been in Auckland for the past week, left last evening on his return to Napier. Air. D. AI: Gillies, superintending en-.. \ mincer for the Union Steam Ship Company in Sydney, arrived by the Aorangi yesterday. Air. G. H. Alackley, general manager of railwavs, who has been 011 leave for the past month, resumed duties in Wellington yesterday. Air. S. Vella, a member of the Auckland Harbour Board, returned to Auckland vfsterday after a month's absence in Wellington on business. The Rev. C. A. B. Watson .left last evening to attend the quarterly meetin'-'- in of the New Zealand Anglican Board of Missions. The Hon. G. P. Smith. ALL.C.. of Cliristchureh, who has been visiting Australia, returned by the Aorangi yesterday. He will leave for Wellington this evening. Air. and Airs. F. A. Cunning, of Honolulu, who have been conducting a party of American schoolteachers on a tour through New Zealand, returned ■ to Auckland yesterday and are at the Grand Hotel. Air. F. AI. Waters, chairman of the Alanukau County Council, Mr. E. A*hcroft, clerk to the council, and Mr. W. A. Bishop, chairman of the Waitemata County Council, left last evening to attend a conference in Wellington of the Counties' Association. Air. .T. Cokcr, head of the London publishing firm of J. Cokcr and Company, Limited, arrived by the Aorangi yesterday from Sydney." He is accompanied by Airs. Cokcr and they •will spend a brief holiday in the Dominion. They are at the Central Hotel. The Hon. W. Downic Stewart 'arrived in Auckland from Dunedin yesterday. and is at the Grand Hotel. He will leave by the Aorangi to-day to attend, the conference of the Institute of Pacific Relations in Canada. Air. H. F. von Hnast and Aliss AI. Seaton, two other New Zealand delegates, also will sail by the Aorangi. Air. E. Crowe, business manager for Alessrs. Dorrtian, Long and Company, builders of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, is a through passenger by the Aorangi, which arrived yesterday from Sydney, en route to Vancouver. He is returning to London after spending eight and a-half years in Australia in connection with the planning and construction of the bridge. j
