TAURANGA AMBULANCE
ARRIVAL OF VEHICLE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TAURANGA, Monday The motor ambulance which has been purchased from the St. John Ambulance headquarters in Auckland was brought through from Auckland on Saturday. The weather was exceptionally bad, heavy rain falling practically all the way, but the vehicle ran without the slightest trouble from tho start to the end oi' the journey. A St. John Ambulance division was formed in Tauranga last September as a result of the efforts of Mr. F. C. Warner, tho present superintendent and transport officer. After lectures 4:1 men succeeded in obtaining first aid certificates." Arrangements wore made by which several local residents provided the money to purchase an ambulance, .the division undertaking to redeem the financial obligation with tho assistance of residents of the Tauranga Hospital Board's area, for whom tho ambulance and the services of the division are now available at all times.
