MODEL YACHT RACING
PONSONBY CLUB'S SEASON The Ponsonby Model Yacht Club held its first annual distribution of prizes and dancia in the Poneonby Cruising Club's pavilion last evening. There was a good attendance of members and visitors from the various model and senior yacht clubs on the Waitemata and Manukau. . The commodore. Mr. W. A. Wilkinson, who presided, stated that 63 races were held during the season, all being wclj contested. The racing was carried out throughout ilia winter and also during part of the summei. The prizes were distributed by the patron. Mr E H. Xorthcroft. who. in congratulating the club on its success, said tj-e spoifc of "model yachting should bo encouraged, p* it not only taught boys how to oesign end sail models, but also how to observe tlia "rulo of tho road" in yacht racing.
