AUCKLANDERS' DOINGS [from our own correspondent] LONDON. June 9 Mr. E. C. Cutten (Auckland), Mr. G. S. Edlin and Mr. G. Beaumont came to England in a party by the Balranald. Mr. Cutten has recovered from tho attack of illness which occurred during tho voyage and is now in good health. Fifty years havo elapsed sinco ho was previously in London. Mr. Edlin has come to England to complete somo technical engineering work ou which he is engaged. The Itev. Harold Anson has been appointed by tho Bishop of Southwark to tho honorary canonry of Southwark Cathedral, vacant through the death of Canon Bickering, vicar of Woolwich. Tho now canon was formerly vicar of Hawera and warden of St. John's College, Auckland. Ho is at present vicar of Tonbridgo, Oxtcd, Surrey. Mr. J. E. Cornos (Auckland) is on a combined trip of business and pleasure, accompanied by his son. Ho wont to tho opening of tho Manchester Unity Oddfellows' Conferoncc at Brighton last week and ho intends to bQ present at tho installation at new Masonic Temple in London in July. Mr. Corncs and his son havo been visiting Lord Hosobery's racing quarters at Epsom, where they were tremendously .interested to seo tho notable racehorse Sandwich. Their interest was greatly enhanced, of course, because they drew him in the Irish Sweepstake last October, when he gained third placo in tho Manchester November Handicap. Mr. 11. D. Bull (Auckland) has reached England after having completed ii four years' contract with tho Federated Malay States Government, during which time ho was stationed in tho States of Porak and Selangor and the settlements of Singapore Two months wore, occupied in travel from Singapore to Southampton, tho journey being made by Hongkong, Shanghai, Nagasaki to Kobe and thonce overland to Yokohama and Tokyo, visiting on tho way Kyoto, tho ancient capital of Japau. From Yokohama, Mr. Bull went to Vancouver. Ho visited all tho chief cities of Canada and left New York for Southampton. He has come to England to visit relatives and he proposes to stay until about November, when he will return to New Zealand. . Tho Rev. J. Edwards, assistantcurate of Marsk-bv-tho-Sea, having been accepted by tho Bishop of Melanesia for service in the diocese, left England on Juno 2 by the Mooltau for Sydney.
