July 10 Ton thousand .Tows wero present in tho Albert Hall at a service of intercession for persecuted Jews in Gerjnany. Dr. Joseph Hermann Hertz, Chief Rabbi of tho United Hebrew Congregation of the British Empire, compared the anti-Semitism of the Nazis with ' t| lo treatment of witches in barbaric times. Germany, he said, took an unpopular section of tho community and blamed them for all their Bed troubles. Nothing less than extermination of the Jews would satisfy the -wilder spirits among tho Nazis, who had stated repeatedly that if Herr Hitler's life wero attempted, even unsuccessfully, all Jews in Germany would be immediately placed against a wall and shot with a measure of ghastliness exceeding anything tho -world had ever B een. A. message from Berlin states that the deathblow has been given to the practices of Jewish doctors by tho prohibition of non-Aryans treating Aryan members of private sick benefit institutions, of which 90 per cent of Germans ere members. Eighty-eight Jewish doctors havo been arrested as the result of a raid on the consulting office, which is organising the/relief of doctors deprived of ihoir livelihood. All were sent to a concentration camp before they wero able to arrange for the futuro care of their patients. Tho Government has suspended tho tiowspaper Taglische Rundschau for ' three months for criticism of its religions policy.

DEMOCRACY DOOMED GERMAN NAZIS' POLICY APPLICATION TO PRUSSIA BERLIN, July 9 The Premier of Prussia, Captain Goering, has promulgated a new constitution for the Prussian State Coun- ' cil, which formerly functioned like the House of Lords. In future it is merely to listen to Captain Goering's pronouncements, make observations on I them and advise the Government. The council will meet in secrecy and will not possess a vote. It will consist of the Prussian Cabinet and 50 appointees, including the chief and subchiefs of the Nazi Storm Troops, representatives of the churches, industry, business and science.

Captain in explaining the abolition of the vote, said the Nazi State Knew only one authority, namely, that from above downward, and one responsibility, namely, that from tho bottom Upward. " Wo are deadly enemies of the principle of democratic majority," said the Premier, " and we have now concentrated /Our authority moro rigidly than since the time of Frederick the Great. You may call it a dictatorship, but it is really the principle of leadership." PRISONERS IN CAMPS AT LEAST 100,000 .
