MANUKAU BOAT HARBOUR
THE WORK TO PROCEED The Onchunga Borough Council last evening accepted an filler by the Auckland Harbour Board which should terminate. tho dispute between the two bodies regarding the closing of Geddeii Basin and the construction of an alternative boat harbour on the Martukivti. Tho letter received from the Harbour Board stated that if tho council Would undertake to remove the rock at present in the boat harbour, and by continuous working place tho stone on tho outer reef, the hoard would consent to the closing of Oeddes Basin being profceeclccl with. Tho hoard considered tho extension of the protection wall should 110 carried to tho full 6Ooft. If tlui Council was prepared to complete thd wall to tho satisfaction of tho board's Manukau connnitteo and its officials, £.'550 would be contributed toward tin} cost, provided tho council entered into n binding contract to complete tho work. Tho council unanimously agreed to accept the conditions. Tho foreman of works said the work would occupy I about 12 months.
