MOTOR-CAR SOMERSAULTS

Mr. -Tohn Henderson, aged 52, received fractures of the ribs and abrasions when a light motor-truck in which ho was a passenger collided with a motor-car at the junction of the Puke-kohe-Bombay road and the Bombay deviation about 1.30 p.m. yesterday. The truck was being driven by Mr. J. 11. Evans to a football mafcii at Ta Kohaoga, and the car, which was driven by Mr. A. H. Shaw, of Auckland, wa3 travelling from l'okeno to tlia city. The impact caused the car to somersault. and it -arae to rest on its wheels, }' cing back townd I'.lieno. The truck was turned round, and Mr. Henderson, who was in the cab, was throve . oavily on to the roadway. He received attention from Dr. A. T. Begg, of I'ukekolio, and was taken by a Sti John Wuti> lance to the Auckland Hospital, his condition being described later as Mi serious.
Mr. Shaw's car was badly damaged, the hood being torn off and the bodywork and front- portion battered. Tin left back wheel of the truck wai smashed.
