PRAYER AND FASTING
THIRTY-SIX HOURS RECTOR AND CHURCH DEBT Thirty-six hours of sustained prayer and fasting were completed by the rector of St. John's parish, Albany, Western Australia, the Rev. A. E. White, at seven o'clock on the evening of June 16. The prayer and fasting rere undertaken with the object ofraising £2OO for the liquidation of the church debt The response of June 15 exceeded £IOO, and further gifts received throughout the following day from a constant stream of worshippers brougns the amount, up to £l5O _ The rector stated An June lb tnas his phvsical condition was good, ana he felt confident that, if; neccssar:y, M could sustain the fast for a furthj two days. Indications were that tn» would not be necessary.
