SETTLERS' INTERESTS

TE KUITI CONFERENCE [by telegraph:—own correspondent] TE KUITI. Saturday An enthusiastic conference of settlers' associations in the Waitonio County was held in Te Kuiti yesterday. Delegates were present from the' Tangitu, Mniroa, Pio Pio and Ivangitoto Associations, and apologies were received from W aitonio and Aria for non-repre-sentation. I t was unanimously resolved that the associations in the Waitonio County amalgamate and work under a central executive.

The following officers were elected:— Mr. J. Jones, chairman; Mr. J. Francis (Pio Pio), vice-president; Mr. 0. K. Middleton (Tangitu), treasurer; Mr. J. l'\ Roberts (Rangitoto), auditor; executive, .Messrs. Murray (Mairoa), Warriner and Roberts (Rangitoto), and C'ullen and Francis (Pio Pio). Power to add to the number from the settlers' associations not represented in person was given.
