FAIR TO FINE WEATHER MANY FROSTS INDICATED I'he Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:— The northern cyclone has moved away eastward. An anti-cyclone covers the central Tasman Sea and the South Island, but is losing its intensity. A slight depression is passing in the south. Indications are for light to ' moderate winds, but fresh to strong in parts of the northern and far r southern districts. South to south-east winds prevailing north of Westport and Kaikoura and westerlies in the south. A considerable south-easterly swell is indicated on the east coast, otherwise seas will be smooth. Moderate seas in the eastern Tasman Sea, moderate southerly winds and moderate seas in the northern portion, variable westerlies predominating and smooth to moderate seas in the southern portion. Weather fair to fine in most districts. Cloudy on the east coast and south Of East Cape. Drizzling rain and fog in places and showers in the Far South. Temperatures cold with many frosts. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —Fine sunny weather was experienced nil day yesterday, although it was cold in the shade. There was only a light southerly wind. The barometer showed a rising tendency in the morning and after a slight check in the afternoon continued to rise in the evening. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 30.1QJn. Midnight, Wednesday .. 30.00 in, Temperature in shade yesterday (to midnight)— Maximum, 58dsg.; minimum; 44deg. Wellington.—Dull, misty weather continued yesterday.
