TE AROHA ACTIVITIES [by telegraph—own correspondent] TE AROHA, Saturday At the annual general meeting the Te Aroha Kennel Club Mr. J. f>. Rivett presided. The attendance.£.was most gratifying and augurs well for-the next show. '■ The balance-sheet, which disclosed » credit balance of £l3 16s, was adopted. Assets were shown as £2B, this amount including 13 cups, valued at £2O. In his annual report the president mentioned that according to the New Zealand Kennel Club's report, Te Aroha was the third largest club in the Dominion, having received 465 entries for exhibition and attracting the attention of fanciers from all parts of th® country. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr. J. A. Hepburn; president, Mr. J. D. Rivett; vice-presidents. Messrs. V. Hamilton, S. Davies, N. Quirk, D. Wilson, T. M. Curran, J. Evans, J. H. Johnson, N. Wade and Dr. W. R. Lawrence; secretary, Mr. V. H. Tourell; treasurer, Mr. F. Gaw. auditor, Mr. M. Goddard; hon. veterinary surgeon, Mr. D. Wilson'; hon. solicitor, Mr. P. Gilchrist, junr.; executive, Messrs. L. Flatt, H. Johnson, V. Hamilton, J. Willis, R. Watson, H. P. Brasting, J. O'Connell, "J. Ritchie, P. F'agan, W. J. Barclay, W. S„ Davies; ladies' committee, Mrs. F. Gaw and Misses L. Johnson and Ritchie. It was decided to hold the next show on September 19 and 20. Mr. N. Wada was appointed judge (all breeds), subject to his acceptance. Recommendations which it was agreed to forward to the executive were: —■ (1) That the club hold a parade in connection with the Thames Valley | Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Association's show; (2) that steps be taken immediately to insure the club's property; (3) that the collection of cups and trophies be commenced immediately; (4) that a delegate to the New Zealand conference be appointed. The chairman moved that the club record its appreciation of the services of the past-secretary, Mr. J. Ritchie.. This was carried by acclamation.
