THEFT FROM WAREHOUSE

FINE OF £2 ON WOMAN

"DUE TO SUDDEN IMPULSE"

Charges of stealing three pairs of stockings, a supper cloth and elastic, the property of a city warehouse, were admitted by a saleswoman, Leila Gladys Fairweather, aged 32 (Mr. Meek), in the Police Court on Saturday before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. It was stated that, until the offences, accused had always led a respectable life.

Counsel said the woman had been out of work for some time. She was not the usual type of shoplifter, and the thefts were due to sudden impulse. A fine of £2, in default one month's imprisonment, was imposed.
