PROPOSAL FOR COUNCIL

FINALISING OF REPORT

Investigations into the possibility of setting up in New Zealand a council for educational research similar to that set up in Australia under the Carncgio Corporation have been carried forward during the last few weeks by tho committee nominated to make a report to tho corporation in New York. Tho committee has obtained the views of various authorities and educational bodies throughout tho Dominion and endorsement of the scheme has been unanimous.

A special meeting of the eommittce was held in Wellington Inst Friday, when possible schemes of development were discussed. The committee will shortly finalise its report, which will then be forwarded co tho Carnegie Corporation in New York.
