OUR WINTER CAMPAIGN
HELPING THE NEEDY DEAR BOYS AND GIRLS: Another two weeks and our 1933 Winter Campaign will be over, crowned once more v\ith success and the achievement of even more than our objective. It is not the mere fact of financial success that brings satisfaction, however, it is the far more important fact that once again/'we have been privileged to do something to help forward a great cause, that of relieving suffering and want among/ the sick and poor. Even the smallest donations, given in this spirit of loving kindness, count for more than larger sums given in a less willing spirit. It has been a real joy during ' this campaign to read the scores of kindly letters that have accompanied donations both large and small, and to find that so many helpers were sending not merely/a donation but a true and generous message of encouragement. The Comfort Ship has made many calls during the cold days of the past week, and the good cheer and practical assistance thus given has helped many a discouraged mother, many an aged, lonely soul,,to face life in a more hopeful spirit. We have now practically reached the objective set for our \\ inter Comforts Fund, but, as we usually exceed our objective, 1/ should not be at all surprised if we reach the £4O mark by the end of the month. And if we do, so much the better! Meantime/ both Sister Tat and the St. John's nurses join with me in thanking all this week's donors most heartily. It is good to be able to print so generous' a list as that which appears below, in the closing weeks of a campaign.
