HELENSVILLE NEWS
BRIDGE AFTERNOON Mesdames Mackie and Hunt were hostesses at a bridge afternoon held in the Star Theatre on Tuesday, in aid of funds for the Plunket Society. Keen and pleasant games of cards were played, a pleasing interlude being ..the dispensing of afternoon tea. Mrs. Lambert, on behalf of the society, thanked the hostesses for their generous help in assisting its funds. Mrs. Lambert was the winner of the A prize and Mrs. Sandin of thQ B prize. Mrs. Jenkin won the consolation pnize. The result of the afternoon amounted to nearly £3 10s for the funds. Among those present were: Mesdames W. J. Ellett, E. Eames, C. L. Barnard, M. Wilkins, C. G. Sandin, D. Jenkins, W. I. Brock, J. Stanaway, T. W. Dwerryhouse, G. Birnie, H. Wilson, T. Stinson, A. G. Lowe, M. F. Rimmer, M. Sheffield, J. Burrell, J. F. Lambert, T. O. Robinson, G. L. Robinson,- and Misses I.' and A., Simcock.
