GREAT VOLUME OF VAPOUR [BV TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT I WHAKATANR. Monday White Island appeared to-day to bo particularly active, dense volumes of vapour rising a considerable "distance. A strong smell of sulphur was noticed in Whakatane last night, being carried in from the island by a north-easterly breeze.
