WEST INDIES ELEVEN GOOD SCORING CONTINUES (Received June 11 • 6.3" P- nl -) LONDON. June 10 The West Indian cricketers to-day began a match against Middlesex. The visitors batted first and scored 382 runs (Dacosta 67, Griffith 62, Valentine 59 not out). Peebles took four wickets for 108. Middlesex in their first innings had lost two wickets for 14 when play ceased for tho day. In their match against Somerset yesterday the West Indians declared their innings closed for tho loss of six wickets. Their score of 482 (Headley 224 not out) left the visitors 210 ahead of the county, which played out time, losing nine wickets for 323 (Longrigg 67). Tho match was drawn. LATEST COUNTY MATCHES SUTCLIFFE MAKES 205 LONDON, June 9 Following are the results of the latest county cricket matches: M.C.C. v. Kent. —M.C.G.: First innings, 406 (Peacoeke 94, Bobins 106); second, eight for 187, declared (Peacoeke 87). Kent: First innings, 253 (Ames 77); second, 254 (Ames 115; Bowes six for 60). M.C.C. won by 86 runs. Hampshire v. Essex.—Hampshire: First innings, 337 (Arnold 75); necond, 211 (O'Connor four for 32). Essex: First innings, 274 . (Eastman 93; Boyes six for 91); second, six for 277 (O'Connor 115). Essex won by four wickets. Yorkshire v. Warwick. —Yorkshire, First innings, six for 591 (Sutcliffe 205, Barber 124, Veritv 78 not out, Levland 76). Warwick: First innngs, 319 (Kilncr 107 lint, out); follow-on, four for 127. Yorkshire won on the first innings. This county which is easily leading for the championship failed i'or the first lime this season to secure the maximum points. Leicester v. Gloucester won by an innings and 89 runs.
Worcester v. Derby.—-Worcester: First innings, .'l9O (Walters 124); second, three for 55. Derby: First innings, .'lO.'l (Perks five for 50). Worcester won on the first innings. Walters is the first batsman to reach 1000 runs for the season.
