Welling-ton. at 2 p.m. on JUNE 22, is called by the Provisional Committee set up by the Meeting of Sheep-farmers held at Paimerston. North on May 26. to confirm the following Resolution, which was passed at the aforesaid Meeting:— " That to finance a sheep and wool improvement scheme the Government be asked to rass_ legislation enabling the imposition of a levy of not more than threepence per bale on all W 00l grown in the North Island or in the Dominion if the South Island wishes to come into the scheme. Further, that the Government be asked to pass an empowering clause to the Meat Boatd Act giving the Board discretionary power to subsidise est such levy to an extent that may be rendered necessary by circumstances: and that the total sum accruing be administered by a Committee set -cp by the Sheep-fanners."
